Cumnor Construction Ltd. carried out the role of Works Contractor and PSCS for this project.
The contract comprised of the stabilisation of an embankment. A total of 135 Soil Nails were installed and grouted into the embankment. Remedial works were carried out to an existing stone wall. This work included installing new foundations and rebuilding the wall. Other sections of the wall were repaired, rebuilt and repointed as required. The road was resurfaced. Rotting trees were removed from the embankment. General vegetation clearance of the area was also carried out. Environmental measures were implemented to ensure that the River Clyda was protected from pollution whilst the work were being completed.
Traffic management measures were in place throughout the contract duration. These measures were designed in-house and approved by Cork County Council.
