Contract Details
Cumnor Construction Ltd. carried out the role of Works Contractor and PSCS for this project.
The work comprised of the construction of three new buildings on an existing site within Cope Foundation’s Beechhill Complex in Montenotte, Cork City. These new buildings included a new kitchen facility, a large staff canteen building and a new residential building. This new residential wing was integrated into the existing residential building. The site remained live whilst the works were being carried out. This required careful co-coordination and implementation of control measures to ensure the safety of the general public.
The work also included mechanical and electrical installations and was coordinated so as not to disrupt the daily operation of the complex. A new lift, specialised cooking systems and a cold storage room were installed.
The project was completed in phases as requested by the client. New access roads were constructed, vehicular entrances modified, pedestrian walkways and new boundary walls were built. Car parking spaces were provided, site entrance lighting works, recreational areas and landscaping areas were added.
