Contract Details

Cumnor Construction Ltd. carried out the role of Works Contractor and PSCS for this project.

The contract involved the stabilisation of cliffs using netting, shotcreting horizontal drainage systems and the installation of 142 Soil Nails. A concrete toe was installed at the base of the shotcrete in order to support the shotcrete above.

The works were located below, within and immediately adjacent to the inter-tidal zone. A safe working platform was specifically designed and built to cater for tidal effects. The existing cliff face was cleared of all vegetation and removed off site . Great care was taken to ensure the waters below were not contaminated.

Traffic management measures were designed in-house and implemented in order to undertake the work.
